Instead of Sri Lanka, the Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates in 2022. The tournament, however, will be held in Sri Lanka from August 27 to September 11.
This is the 15th season. The Asia Cup could not be held in 2020 or 2021 due to the coronavirus.
The tournament will feature five Test teams: Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, with a sixth team from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Singapore, or Hong Kong qualifying through the qualifying tournament beginning on August 20. I'll compete in the main tournament.
Previously, India had won the championship seven times in the last 14 years, in 1984, 1988, 1990, 1995, 2010, 2016, and 2018. Sri Lanka won the title five times after that, in 1986, 1997, 2004, 2008, and 2014. Pakistan has won the World Cup twice (2000, 2012). Bangladesh failed to win the Asia Cup in 1998 after losing to India by three wickets in the final.
