Bangladesh Navy has released recruitment notification for officer cadet batch 2023-B. If you want to become a ship captain, aircraft pilot, naval commando and submariner, you can join Bangladesh Navy. Online application has already started. Application can be made till September 30.
Eligibility of Application
Applicant must have passed Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination from Science department with minimum GPA-4.50 and both examinations should have Physics and Mathematics subjects. English medium students must have 'A' grade in at least three subjects and 'B' grade in two subjects out of six subjects at 'O' level and 'B' grade in at least two subjects at 'A' level. However, Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in both the exams.
Other Qualifications
Age should be between 16 and half years to 21 years as on 1st July 2023. But in case of armed forces candidates age should be between 18 to 23 years. Both men and women must be single and citizens of Bangladesh to apply.
Navy
In case of male candidates, height should be minimum 5 feet 4 inches, weight 50 kg, chest size 30 inches normal and 32 inches when stretched. In case of female candidates, height should be at least 5 feet 2 inches, weight should be 47 kg and chest size should be 28 inches normal and 30 inches when stretched.
How to apply
Interested candidates have to visit this website and follow the application procedure by clicking on 'Apply Now' option. At the last stage of the application, the application fee of Tk 700 has to be paid through online banking or mobile banking. As soon as the application process is over, the candidate will be sent the call-up letter for the initial interview, the application form filled by the candidate and the personal information form. Those forms should be downloaded and printed and subsequently brought along with other necessary documents during the initial interview. If a candidate is not able to download the call-up letter and application form immediately, he can download the application form by logging into the website again with the roll number and tracking number sent to his mobile phone.
Training and commission
After 10 weeks of training at Bangladesh Military Academy, 18 months as officer cadet and 18 months as midshipman at Bangladesh Naval Academy, a regular commission will be given to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant in Bangladesh Navy after a total of 3 years of international standard training.
Salary and allowances
The officer cadets will be given pay and allowances as per the pay scale in the armed forces along with other benefits as may be decided on the finally appointed candidates. Later on promotion as midshipman they will be paid in higher scale.
