Brazil's World Cup squad announced, no Firmino
Brazil's World Cup squad announced, no Firmino |
Brazil has announced the team for the World Cup in Qatar. Roberto Firmino's omission from the Latin superpowers' World Cup squad is a big surprise. Although this star player of Liverpool is in good form this season, Tite did not keep him in the team.
Apart from the omission of Firmino, there are no big surprises in the Brazil team. Philippe Coutinho was already out of the team due to injury.
Brazil will start their World Cup campaign with a match against Serbia on November 24 with their eyes on the sixth title. Five-time world champions Brazil have been waiting for another World Cup for 20 years. The Selecao have not benefited much from European dominance in recent times. In 2014, Brazil's highest achievement since 2002 was to play in the semi-finals of the World Cup at home.
To break that stalemate, Brazil will go to Qatar with a strong team under Tite. The goal is the same, the World Cup. Any achievement other than the title is a failure for Brazil. For that purpose, Tite has arranged a team with his favorite players. Despite his stardom, Firmino was not considered.
There is no place for the defender Gabriel Magelhaus who is in rhythm for Arsenal. Tite traveled to Europe last week to watch the players play closely. The team is organized with that experience.
There is no shortage of stars in this year's Brazil team. Two of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, Alisson and Illson, will fight for the goalkeeper position. Waveraton is another goalkeeper.

In defense Danilo, Alex Sandro, their combination, Thiago Silva was conceivable. However, there was some apprehension about whether veteran defender Dani Alves would be in the team at the end. In the end, Tite trusted Alves' experience. In response to a question whether Alves could be criticized in the team, Tite said, "I'm not here to please people who give their opinion on Twitter."
Brazil will enter the World Cup with a star-studded attack. Vinicius Jr., Rodrigo, Rafinha, Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus are in great rhythm with Neymar. Picking four players from this list, Titek may have to face the problem of making the eleven.
