Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission (BJSC) has published notification for the recruitment of Assistant Judge. 100 people will be recruited in the 16th Bangladesh Judicial Service (16th BJS). The number of posts may increase or decrease.


According to the BJSC notification, the application starts from February 9. Candidates can apply till 11:59 PM on March 9. If appointed to this post, the pay scale will be Tk 30,935 to Tk 64,430.


Should be a four-year graduate (honours) in law from a recognized university or a graduate in law with a three-year graduate degree in law from a recognized foreign university. Provided, however, that the person should have obtained CGPA of second class or equivalent in Law or Graduate (Honours) or Post Graduate level in Law. Any candidate who has passed graduation or graduation (honours) in law or post graduate examination in the field can apply. However, the examination must be completed on or before the last date of submission of application form.


Candidate age should be maximum 32 years as on 1st January 2023. Age will be calculated as per SSC/equivalent examination certificate.


Interested candidates have to apply on the website of Judicial Service Commission by filling the form prescribed by the Commission. Detailed information regarding recruitment can be known in this link. After applying online, you have to deposit Tk 1200 towards registration fee through SMS from Teletalk prepaid mobile number. Last date of application is 9th March till 11:59 PM.


Exam Type and Pass Mark

Preliminary Examination

All the candidates have to appear in preliminary examination in MCQ system of 100 marks. There will be total 100 MCQs in that exam. Each will be worth 1 mark. However, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. All the candidates have to clear the preliminary examination as a pre-qualification to appear in the written examination. Minimum pass marks in this exam is 50. In the preliminary exam, questions will be asked on General Bengali, General English, Bangladesh and International Affairs, General Mathematics, Daily Science, Intelligence and Law. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added to the marks obtained in the Written or Oral Examination of any candidate. written test

16th BJS Exam, 2023 will be held in written exam of 1000 marks. Only those candidates who clear the preliminary exam can appear in the written exam. A candidate will be considered to have passed the written examination if he secures an average of 50 percent marks. Any candidate who gets less than 30 marks in any subject will be considered failed in the written examination.


oral examination

Candidates who have cleared the written test will have to participate in the oral test of 100 marks. Pass Mark of Oral Test is 50.

Only candidates who clear the written test will get the opportunity to appear in the oral test. As BJS exam is a competitive exam, obtaining minimum pass marks does not guarantee recommendation by the commission.

The preliminary examination will be held on March 18. Preliminary, written and oral examination centers and detailed schedule will be notified through notification in daily newspapers along with commission website.
