Bangladesh Navy has released a recruitment notification for the post of officer cadet in the batch of 2024. Interested candidates can apply online till April 25.


Candidate's age should be between 16 and half years to 21 years as on 1st January 2024 (18 to 23 years for armed forces candidates). Candidates must be single.


Physical Standard 

 Male height 5 feet 4 inches, weight 50 kg and chest size normal 30 inches, expanded 32 inches. For women, height 5 feet 2 inches, weight 47 kg and chest size normal 28 inches, expanded 30 inches.


Educational Qualification

 Minimum GPA 4.50 in SSC & HSC/Equivalent Examination (Science Section). Mathematics and Physics subjects must be included in both the exams. OR For English medium candidates in 'O' level must have minimum 3 A grade in 6 subjects, 3 B grade in 'A' level and pass with minimum B grade in two subjects for 'A' level. Mathematics and Physics subjects must be included in both the exams.


Armed Forces Candidates must have passed SSC & HSC/Equivalent Examination (Science Category) with minimum GPA 4.50. Mathematics and Physics subjects must be included in both the exams. 2023 HSC/equivalent candidates can also apply.


Nomination Procedure

 Candidates will first have to attend the preliminary health examination, preliminary interview and written test. Candidates who qualify the written test will be examined and interviewed by the ISSB at the Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB), Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka. Candidates will have to participate in the final health examination during the ISSB examination.


The final nomination board process by Nausadar will be held by December 2023 for eligible candidates in the final medical examination.


Final shortlisted candidates will join Bangladesh Naval Academy, Patenga, Chittagong as Officer Cadet in first week of January 2024.


Training/Commission

 After 10 weeks of training at Bangladesh Military Academy, 18 months as officer cadet and 18 months as midshipman at Bangladesh Naval Academy, a regular commission will be given to Bangladesh Navy as 'Sub-Lieutenant' after a total of three years of international standard training. In addition to professional training at the Naval Academy, Executive Branch cadets will be awarded BSc (Hons) in Maritime Science and Supply Branch cadets will be awarded BBA. Cadets of engineering and electrical branches will be awarded BSc Engineering degree from MIST.


Pay and Allowances

 Officer cadets will receive pay and allowances as per the pay scale of the Armed Forces along with other benefits as determined by the Government. Later on promotion as Midshipman will get higher scale of pay.

Payment can be made through online banking/mobile banking at the last stage of application. At this stage, an application fee of Tk 700 has to be paid free of charge through any bank's credit/debit card and mobile banking (Bikash, Rocket, Cash, Tap, OK Wallet, QCash, Nexus, Mcash, Amex, Bank Asia, AB Bank) etc.


After completing the application process, the candidate should immediately download and print the call-up letter, Form Commission-1A (Filled application form) and personal information form for the initial interview and bring it along with other necessary documents mentioned in the call-up letter at the time of the initial interview. If a candidate fails to download the call-up letter and form, the application form can be downloaded and printed by signing into the website again with the roll and tracking number provided on the applicant's mobile number.
